Cute Ways to Include Your Pets at Your Wedding

As any animal lover will tell you, our pets are hugely important parts of our lives. So why not find cute ways to include them in your special day!? When Brett and I got engaged, we both knew we wanted to include our pets in our wedding in some way. While our cats won’t be there physically, I began to look for ways to feature our furbabies in the details of our wedding day. There is no shortage of options for pet lovers who want to feature their furbabies in their wedding. Options range from custom pet portrait wedding invitations to adorable cocktail accessories. Here, I’ll be sharing some of the cutest ways to include your pet in your wedding:

Custom Pet Themed Bar Sign

One of the most ubiquitous ways to include your pets at your wedding is to commission a custom pet-themed bar sign. Whether you offer a specialty cocktail at your wedding or not, these cute signs are a great way to display drink options while also honoring your furbaby!

Brett and I have decided to go this route for our wedding. To do so, we commissioned watercolor portraits of Louis, Olivia, and Emory from Sarah Paints Pets, one of our favorite cat artists. Sarah created a gorgeous portrait of our three cats for us a few years ago, so it was a no-brainer to go to her for this aspect of our wedding. Her custom bar sign listing is available here with examples of her work, including options for the number of pets. The price is super reasonable, and Sarah works with you through every step of the process to ensure your pet portraits are absolutely perfect!

Here are photos of how we used the portraits of our cats in our wedding. Once the bar list was finalized, I used the digital files Sarah sent us to create a menu, had them printed at CVS, and framed them to put around the reception. Likewise, I sent those files to the Etsy shop that created our cocktail stirrers. Lastly, I used the line drawing from Sarah Paints Pets to create cocktail napkins with Zazzle.

Pet Themed Cocktail Accessories: Cups, Koozies, Napkins, Coasters, & Cocktail Stirrers

Another way to include your pet in your wedding is through themed cocktail accessories. These include a variety of items, from plastic cups to cocktail napkins, printed coasters to cocktail stirrers, and even koozies that can double as wedding favors!

Personally, I think that pen line drawings are the most elegant options for these items. There are options to add actual photos of your pet. However, a line drawing is consistent and clean and can even incorporate your wedding colors.

So, at the same time as commissioning the custom bar sign from Sarah Paints Pets, we also commissioned a pen line drawing of our three cats to be used on cocktail napkins and other cocktail accessories at our wedding reception.

Cat Themed Table Numbers & Seating Charts

Another great way to honor your pets at your wedding is through seating charts and other wedding signage. Like with the bar sign, welcome signs, seating charts, table numbers, and even place cards are all open to customization.

While searching for signage options, I also came across a number of adorable pet-themed card holders. These can work for either place cards (like this stretching cat!) or table numbers (like these minimalist photo holders).

Many of the signs available online are digital files that are either designed and delivered to you digitally for printing or offered as templates that you fill out yourself. These are great options for low-cost ways to incorporate your pets into your wedding; plus, they are generally open to even more customization based on your wedding theme.
